Three such steps are assessment, goal-setting, and planning.
Assessment helps individuals identify their true aims and mission. The trick is to be original, question old assumptions, take cues from your feelings and your life story. A good assessment process can replace any sense of loss you experience with new vision and new purposes. And it can give you the confidence to drop what doesn't fit and move toward what does.
Goals, large and small, prepare you for change. They are the motivators in transition. Having identified their short- and long-term goals, individuals then create a plan to achieve them – a sequence of steps that include fallback options as well as blue-sky options to explore. It’s your own personal business plan, written down on paper.
