New Directions is the region's pre-eminent provider of career transition services exclusively for senior-level executives, professionals and their families. We are pioneers, unique nationally and locally in helping clients find and create opportunities that not only meet their near-term career expectations and needs, but also advance their long-term work and life goals. We call this "opportunity development." For 75 percent of our clients, this means an immediate focus on a new full-time position. Our proven, comprehensive action plan quickly moves them along the path to the right opportunity. New Directions also provides all clients the opportunity to first explore and, if interested, immerse themselves in expertly designed programs focused on entrepreneurial ventures, consulting businesses, board directorships, nonprofit endeavors, or public service. For Baby Boomers seeking alternatives to passive retirement — now or within a few years — New Directions' nationally recognized Life Portfolio Program® helps them develop a balance of part-time work with other meaningful activities. These might include family and leisure time, continued learning, teaching or "giving back" — as many of our clients already do through our Foundation for New Directions. Our clients come from New England and across the country. They span a wide spectrum of corporate, professional, education and nonprofit sectors, as well as ages. New Directions is a powerful networking community. Our clients, loyal alumni and staff merge high-level networks to create a shared resource that has connected 40 percent of our clients to their next work opportunity. Finally, we are personally committed to our clients and their families — now and for years to come. We involve spouses and partners in the transition process. We offer complimentary early-career counseling for our clients' adult children. And we provide our alumni transition resources for the rest of their working lives. Our Mission We believe in and practice Martin Buber's philosophy that: "Every person born in this world represents something new,
