New Directions has three primary offerings for organizations:

First, we help companies and organizations navigate the careers of senior executives who are transitioning out of the organization as a result of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or other change that impacts their position. We are an alternative to traditional outplacement. We create a highly personalized partnership with senior, accomplished people throughout their transitions.

Second, we work with senior executives who are employed but at a career crossroads. We help them gain clarity about their shorter- and longer-term goals. They learn to articulate the decision-drivers and interests that will enable the company and the executive to make informed decisions about whether the executive should stay engaged with the company (either in the same job or redeployed to another role) or transition to another organization that is better suited to him or her.

Third, we help organizations smooth the succession process. We work with executives often a year or more before their anticipated departure or retirement from the organization. This is often a time of uncertainty, confusion, and sometimes, fear. Productivity may slip and valuable experience and knowledge not passed on.
